Aphrodite Hills Christmas Market 2012

Every year, the Village Square plays host to the wonderfully exciting traditional Christmas Market, providing a warm and festive atmosphere to be enjoyed by the whole family. Leading Author Eve Makis shares her Creative Writing experience

Where: Civil Marriage Office (next to the Town Hall)
Time: 8:00pm – 9:30pm
Most first time authors are told to write what they know and Eve Makis took that advice to heart when she started a bitter-sweet book about a Greek Cypriot family living in Nottingham. That story became Eat, Drink and be Married, her best selling debut novel published in five languages.
A decade later, this mother of two, has three published novels under her belt and is currently developing a screen adaptation of her third book, Land of the Golden Apple, to be filmed in April 2014.
Eve who lives in Larnaca with her family will be joining LPN to talk about her work, how she got published and the daily reality of a being a full time writer. She will read extracts from her books including a first reading of her recently completed (and as yet unpublished!) novel, Letters to a Lost Brother.
Before moving to Cyprus in September this year Eve taught creative writing at Nottingham University and plans to start a creative writing class in Larnaca.

“War of Colours” (for ages 2 to 9 years old)..Christmas edition– no language used
A production that helps spectators, children and adults, to stop seeing life only in black and white and discover the rest of the colours. A gentleman lives in his own white environment.
Everything is tidy and covered in white. Suddenly a crazy being “invades” his personal space and makes him incredibly angry especially when she starts painting with different colours everything that is white and clean.
In the end they discover together something extraordinary: when two colours mix together they create a new colour!A play about shape, colour, co-operation, and most importantly understanding that if you…just imagine, anything is possible!

In this workshop you will learn to make a 14” Christmas wreath and/or an impressive table arrangement. Whether you like your creations to be purely natural or glam them up with glittery baubles, there will be plenty of colourful decorations to choose from to make your creation unique.

The Youth Foundation in Larnaca and All Glass organise the Christmas Exhibition “All About Arts & Crafts” on the 8th and 9th of December, with different artists showing their work through their own perspective and their own material in a Christmas atmosphere.
The exhibition will take place at the Youth Foundation in Larnaca, St. Lazarous Str. 81-83, on Saturday from 3.00pm – 9.00pm and on Sunday from 10.00am – 9.00pm.
