Windsurfing
Larnaka is ideal for windsurfing and kitesurfing as it has the highest average wind speed from May until September. Furthermore, it has high water temperature (which reaches up to 27° C in the summer) and the sea is safe as it hardly has any rocks, the waters are shallow and there are no strong currents. Municipal Museum of Natural History
This charming modest single storey building can be found within the Larnaka Municipal Gardens. The museum has a great collection of international and local shells, corals, sponges and rock formations. It also houses historical displays which depict a "typical Cypriot yard", as well as large collections of local reptiles, insects, birds, animals, fossils and rock formations. Also on exhibit are marine life and plants from Cyprus and neighbouring countries. An interesting collection of Cyprus insects, as well as the collection of the endemic plants of the island can also be seen here.
