Christmas Arts & Crafts Exhibition

Where:Youth Foundation in Larnaca

When: 8th & 9th December 

Time: Saturday from 3.00pm – 9.00pm and on Sunday from 10.00am – 9.00pm

The Youth Foundation in Larnaca and All Glass organise the Christmas Exhibition “All About Arts & Crafts” on the 8th and 9th of December, with different artists showing their work through their own perspective and their own material in a Christmas atmosphere.

The exhibition will take place at the Youth Foundation in Larnaca, St. Lazarous Str. 81-83, on Saturday from 3.00pm – 9.00pm and on Sunday from 10.00am – 9.00pm.

Any artists who wish to display their work please call at 24-664622 or 99-461812. Participations will be accepted until the 20th of November.

Χριστουγεννιάτικη Έκθεση στο Ίδρυμα Πολιτιστικής Δημιουργίας για Παιδιά και Νέους

Το Ίδρυμα Πολιτιστικής Δημιουργίας για Παιδιά και Νέους και η All Glass διοργανώνουν τη Χριστουγεννιάτικη έκθεση “All About Arts & Crafts” στις 8 και 9 Δεκεμβρίου με διάφορους καλλιτέχνες όπου ο καθένας θα εκθέσει τη δουλειά του από τη δική του οπτική γωνία και το δικό του υλικό σε μία χριστουγεννιάτικη ατμόσφαιρα.

Η έκθεση θα λάβει μέρος στο χώρο του Ιδρύματος Πολιτιστικής Δημιουργίας στη Λάρνακα, Αγίου Λαζάρου 81-83, το Σάββατο από τις 3.00μμ – 9.00μμ και τη Κυριακή από τις 10.00πμ – 9.00μμ.

National Curry Week!!!!

 

This week's recipe is taken from the American Academy Junior School International Cook Book and was kindly supplied by Rosie Eleftheriou from Cyprus Virgin Coconut Oil (Tel: 99206722)

Goan Chicken Curry

Ingredients:

4 large chicken breasts, cut into chunks
3 tbsp virgin coconut oil
1 tsp yellow or brown mustard seeds
1 large onion, sliced
3 cloves garlic, finely sliced
400ml tin coconut milk
Salt

marinade:
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp ground turmeric
1 1/2 tbsp ground coriander
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp salt
75ml water


Mix together all the marinade ingredients to give you a loose, smooth paste.

Add the chicken pieces and coat them in the paste. They are best left to marinate for around 30 minutes to 1 hour, but if you're in a hurry, a few minutes will do.

Heat the oil in a deep frying pan and add the mustard seeds. When they start to pop and jump about in the pan, add the onion and garlic.

Cook until they're golden brown before adding the chicken and any extra paste from the marinade.

Fry over a gentle heat for about 8 minutes before adding the coconut milk.

Increase the heat slightly and bring to a simmer. Cook for a further 10-12 minutes until the sauce has thickened slightly.

Then season with salt to taste.

Serve with rice or naan bread.

Allow 1 - 1 1/2 hours to prepare and cook

servings: 4-6

Fall Craft

Here's a fun fall craft to do with your little one.  Emma and I worked on it while Lia slept but you could really easily create this with a baby or a toddler.
 

What you'll need:

Paper

Red, Yellow, Gold, Green and Brown color

A hand and fingers

Paint your child's hand and arm up to the elbow brown and make an arm print on the paper.  Next have your child make leaves of different colors using her finger tips. Emma loved making the tree and said that she needs to add falling leaves because its autumn.

It's a great craft and makes a wonderful memento.
